In a moment of pride and celebration, the Tunisia Badminton Federation has been honoured with the Africa Shuttle Time Award 2024, a prestigious recognition presented by the Badminton Confederation Africa (BCA). The announcement was made during the BCA and BWF Annual General Meetings (AGM) 2025, held in Xiamen, China.
I’m the eldest of three boys, and was raised by a single parent. Growing up, I was always entrusted with looking after my brothers. I guess I was deputy parent of some sort. One way to cope with this task was to take them along to the youth centre, where kids enjoyed playing different sports. As a result, my childhood was fun, active and free because the only time I could arrive home past sunset was when I was returning from the soccer field or gym. This instilled a sense of responsibility in me.
I was born in Kinshasa, the capital of D R Congo as the son of a diamond merchant. I was the eldest of 10 children. I’ve been passionate about sport since childhood, practicing karate, judo, football and athletics (100m, 200m, 400m and javelin throw).
In 2017, I obtained a diploma in physical medicine and rehabilitation, at the University of Kinshasa. I’m also a certified physical trainer.
